International Trails Day to be Held on June 7

The Recreation New Brunswick, New Brunswick Trails Council Inc., and Sugarloaf Provincial Park will celebrate the International Trails Day on June 7. Outdoor activities such as Nordic walking and Geocaching will be featured in the said event.
Jane Murphy of the New Brunswick Trails Council Inc. confirmed that a local Nordic walking instructor, as well as Jim Cyr, the Chair of the Atlantic Canada Geocaching Association, will grace the event. People who are interested or have engaged in Nordic walking and Geocaching, two relatively new concepts in outdoor activities, are invited to come and start hitting the trails on June 7, starting at 10 am to noon.
The International Trails Day is celebrated every June and aims to highlight new and interesting outdoor activities which use trails. A biking event and senior walk will also be featured in the celebration.
The New Brunswick Trails Council Inc. is a non-profit, membership/volunteer organization that is dedicated to bring advancement of trail-related activities in the local area of New Brunswick and helps Local Trail Sponsors to build, maintain, and promote local trails in the community. Recreation New Brunswick is a network of recreation professionals who are dedicated to advocate and influence public policy and practice of recreation and active living. Together with the Sugarloaf Provincial Park, they extend their invitation to residents of the community to participate and enjoy International Trails Day.
