North America's leading Nordic Walking Instructor, Pete Edwards, will once again host the upcoming Nordic Walking clinics at Weight Watchers and Tops events this spring. Edwards has hosted numerous clinics at Weight Watchers and Tops events as well as hundreds of other clinics in the country. He is known for demonstrating and instructing, and even providing real Nordic Walking Poles for participants to try.
Nordic Walking, also known as Ski Walking, is done by walking with special poles. The goal of every enthusiast is to walk more effectively and burn more calories. In Europe, over six million people are now hooked on the exercise in the cities, in the country, and even up in the mountains. The specialized poles help burn up to 40% more calories than regular walking.
Edwards specializes in finding the perfect length poles to every person. Studies show that walking with the perfect length poles and the correct techniques do not only burn more calories, but also improve balance and stability. Being a ski coach as well, he recommends one-piece poles based on the simple fact that skiers would never use twist-locking poles. Once-piece Nordic walking poles are safer, lighter, and much more durable.
Edwards also hosted numerous clinics at MS, Parkinson's, and diabetes support groups. His efforts as an instructor are rewarded by comments from his clinic participants that the poles indeed make walking a doable activity again.
