The Broome County Office for Aging in New York and local school districts recognize the difficulty in staying fit and active during the cold winter months. This is why they organized an indoor walking program for senior citizens.
The said program will offer the older generation the opportunity to stay fit through an easy fitness activity such as walking.
Program participants will no longer have to brave the cold in order to complete their daily walk because they can now do it at the comfort of a well-lit, temperature-controlled environment. Moreover, there will be no need to worry about getting hit by cars or slipping in the sidewalks.
Senior citizens can take advantage of this special program from Mondays through Fridays starting April 30. The designated walking sites include Binghamton City School District, Chenango Valley Central School District, Deposit Central School District and Susquehanna Valley Central School District.
