Atlanta, GA (PR.COM) -
The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan walked 2 miles on the streets of
Atlanta, GA on Saturday October 13th to promote the prevention of Prostate
Cancer. As he walked from the Clark Atlanta campus field and headed up Martin
Luther King Blvd., the youthful 74 year old Minister looked full of vitality
and vigor. After he completed the walk, he looked as though he could have
walked another two miles. His foundation is called the Louis Farrakhan
Prostate Cancer Foundation and provides information and services via online
website.
Prostate cancer nearly took the Minister's life about one year ago
but he now has no traces of the cancer at all. There were free prostate
screenings being provided for all men and many took advantage of the services.
Black men, in general, do not get checked as they should. After the age of 40,
men should get checked once each year. Many men lined up to be tested after
being urged to do so by Minister Farrakhan. The Minister also received
proclamations including one from Mayor Shirley Franklin.
