There will be a Nordic Walking Instructor Training Course on May 2, 2007 at False Creek Community Center. This course is for the health and fitness professional who wishes to teach Nordic walking to the public. This is a 4 hour course and the following credits have been approved by CanFit Pro 2 FIS/PTS, ACE 4 or 4 BCRPA.
On completion of the course, you will be able to execute a good Nordic walking technique of the following:
Health level;
Fitness level;
Uphill and downhill technique;
Have a good knowledge of all facts and subjects mentioned in the Nordic walking instructor course;
Be able to analyze which level of Nordic Walking is suitable for which persons and split the fitness level in health level;
Be able to execute and teach Nordic Walking to clients in a well-balanced and correct way to people to want to execute Nordic Walking themselves; and
Knowledge of Nordic Walking and INWA developments in other countries.
Pre-requisites are:
Experience in sport/fitness training and teaching;
A current CPR;
Education - attendees must have at least one of the following:
A recognized certifications in sports/fitness program or B University degree within sport/health & fitness field.
After passing a written and practical test, a certificate will be sent by the INWA. This course is run by a INWA (International Nordic Walking Association) Master Instructor. More information can be seen at www.nordicwalker.com.
