hi maria, it really depends on the case of your asthma. there are some people who has exercise induced asthma which means that their asthma triggers when they start running or other exercises. While others who has exercise induced asthma starts doing a low intensity work out so they won't really tire themselves too much.

I really can't give you my recommendations since you did not explain how severe the asthma is. Basically ppl. who suffer from asthma still can do workouts but of course with the doctor's approval.

Yeah right, it depends on the severity of the asthma. Although this is a good cardio respiratory exercise maybe you should consult your doctor first and ask for an authentic recommendation. Exercises are proven to be very helpful in curing respiration problems but then their are certain types of exersise than can cause you harm if not suitable for your condition. Hope you can consult a doctor immediately and if you find out that this could help and won't do harm then do it! Good luck!

Just like what I have said in the other thread, all things depends on it's level. Their are kinds of asthma which can kill instantly if the body is subjected to extremely straining task. If your asthma is not this severe then this type of walking can really help you feel better and learn the proper way of breathing. I suggest you check everything first then go straight on if you find out this is safe for you.

Nordic walking will not overall cure the asthma but it could help you through the process of overcoming it. Nordic walking stimulates the process of breathing or the respiratory system. Making it healthy and decreases the tendency of asthma attacks because your respiration process is enhanced. In some cases though you have to check things with your doctor before you do physical activity such as nordic walking.

i think nordic walking is ideal for people who have asthma as the workout opens up the chest, improving respiration.

even if im not a doctor,
i suggest you to still do exercise like nordic walking..
you just have to limit or estimate yourself doing it.
you must have a partner doing it.. so that whatever happens to you.. you know, there will be someone to help you out.

        Hi

I have weather related asthma, i was wondering if walked everyday increasing the time span of walking today I walked total of 20mins thought if walked tomorrow I would do 30mins and extend it each day by 10mins. Will that help decrease of my asthma by walking, am unemployed right now thought do some walking, and love to walk. Please help on the info, or will the increase of 10mins each day be to much at a time?
Only time I have trouble breathing is when it gets to hot out and humidity is up,  is really windy outside, or when its really cold and can't catch my breath,
Thanks

Tia
