Hi everyone! =)

I'm not an expert nordic walker, but I enjoy doing it, I've been nordic walking for already a year now. Even though coordination was lacking, it was great. I use the heart rate monitors and compared heart rates during normal walking, and nordic walking and there was really a difference! I can say it can be a lot of fun, especially when youre with a group.

Yeah, it's actually more fun and interesting if you're with your buddies. Coordination is something that takes a little time to get right. Anyway, what brand of heart rate monitor are you using?

I'm using Sigma, it's really useful and it has automatic scroll-though which provides relevant features for training.

it will always be your call kaki, heart rate monitors are very useful you'll find out the intensity of your workout, it's much like having a trainer who would tell you to slow down or do some more routines.

indeed this is a great exercise! I have been experiencing heart problems before. My doctor was the one who encouraged me to do nordic walking and I was glad that I did tried it. It stabilizes my heart and in a few month after i did nordic walking the holter machine was taken off me because I was not experiencing tachycardia anymore. It is good to monitor your heart rate while doing this exercise so that you would be inspired with the difference or changes you were doing to your body. Happy Walking!

Wow! That's nice to hear lau2. Haven't experienced health problems though but Nordic Walking makes me feel fit every time!

As for heart rate monitors, it would be nice if you have one to monitor your own performance.

Nordic walking is usually recommended to those who have asthma. Of course there are some limitations depending on the graveness of the health situation of the person. But generally it can help stimulate proper breathing which will help you overcome any difficulty in breathing.

I agree, a heart rate monitor is useful when you do nordic walking. It's like seeing yourself progress into something better and thus this inspires you more and gives you strength to walk further. If you are in physical activity such as this you need all the motivation you can get and monitoring your progress is one.
